CAGLCC Member Receives SBA Award

D. Wayne Williams was selected by the US Small Business Administration’s Washington Metropolitan Area District Office as the 2009 Financial Small Business Champion of the Year Award winner.  According to the SBA, Williams was honored for his “hard work, expertise and commitment to small business” in the metropolitan Washington, DC region.  Williams received the award on Thursday June 4, 2009 at the SBA’s Small Business Awards Breakfast Gala in Alexandria, Virginia which was held as a part of National Small Business Week.  Presenting the award was Bridget E. Bean, the District Director of the SBA’s Washington Metropolitan Area District Office.  
 
Williams is Senior Vice President of Business Finance Group Inc., a community-based non-profit lender specializing in the SBA’s 504 loan program.  The program allows a small business to receive up to 90% financing for the acquisition of commercial owner-occupied property (including renovations to the property) at below market interest rates fixed for 20 years.  Williams has been in the banking and financial services industry for over 22 years, with the last 13 years in the Washington, DC region.
